The ABRomics development team has gathered for a new week of hackathon !
From June 8 to 12, the ABRomics development team gathered at the Roscoff Biological Station for a new hackathon focused on innovation and technical developments. Some of them stemmed from the feedback provided by participants at the training session organized in May 2026. During these five days, ABRomics’s developers worked together to explore new directions for the platform.
Highlights of the week included:
- ⚈ Initial implementation of the “Results as Inputs” feature, which allows analyses to be performed using both the original input files and results generated by previous workflows. This enables workflow chaining while preserving consistent metadata and file management across connected analyses.
- ⚈ New form allowing users to add new Sample Source terms to their metadata. We have also added the “food” sample type to accomodate samples from food-based sources.
- ⚈ Upfront development of metagenomic analysis reports for the v2 platform: This includes interactive visualizations of contigs containing AMR genes, and their genomic context (using EggNOG functional annotation) through CGView plots; enrichment of results relating to AMR genes using annotations from the ARO ontology.s.
The progress made over these five days lays the groundwork for future improvements and upcoming features that will continue to strengthen and expand the platform.
