madbot X ABRomics Hackathon: development of a new plugin

On 16 and 17 July, the development teams behind these two IFB-led projects met at the Pasteur Institute for a hackathon dedicated to finalising the ABRomics plugin for madbot. Two days of work were devoted to developing a plugin linking the two tools, with the shared aim of enabling users of the ABRomics platform to submit their data without having to switch manually between the two tools.

The development of madbot in response to the needs of the ABRomics community

Whilst finalising the plugin, it was necessary to expand madbot’s capabilities: the tool will thus be able to handle the submission of genomic assembly data to the ENA (European Nucleotide Archive).

A more robust plugin bridging the two platforms

Thanks to this collaborative effort between the development teams at madbot and ABRomics, the plugin linking the two tools is becoming increasingly sophisticated. This development is part of a wider drive towards interoperability within the IFB, benefiting the user communities involved in antibiotic resistance surveillance and genomic bioinformatics.
